RP to become big winner in Greenpeace “Cool IT Challenge”

The Philippines is set to become a big winner in an ongoing initiative to lessen the IT industry’s contribution to climate change, Greenpeace said today in a press statement. The “Cool IT Challenge,” launched this week by the environment organization, seeks to spur the IT (Information Technology) industry to urgently deliver its massive potential to cut greenhouse gas emissions to help mitigate global warming. Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes needs to take firmer stance on nuclear energy

Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes recently issued a statement to the Manila Overseas Press Club regarding the revival of the Bataan Nuclear Power Plant. During his briefing to the media, Reyes said that the Philippines is not equipped with the infrastructure needed to run a nuclear power plant and added, We have to work on this [nuclear] and it’s a slow process but we have to get there eventually.
